Verify your email address
What the verification banner is for, how to resend the link, and what to do when it doesn't arrive.
If you see a banner saying "Please verify your email address to secure your account," we've sent a link to your inbox and it hasn't been opened yet.
Why it matters
Your email address is how you get back in if you lose your password, and where notices about your account are sent. Verifying confirms the address really reaches you — so a typo at sign-up doesn't quietly lock you out later, and nobody can open an account using an address that isn't theirs.
Verifying
- Open the email from Gathrings
- Click the verification link
- Back in Gathrings, choose I've verified
If it says "Not verified yet. Check your inbox for the link," the click hasn't registered. Make sure you opened the newest email — an older link may have expired.
Resending
Choose Resend email on the banner, or Resend email on the verification screen. You'll see "Verification email sent. Check your inbox."
It goes to the address on your account. If that address is wrong, resending won't help — write to [email protected] and we'll correct it.
If it doesn't arrive
- Check spam and junk. This is where it usually is.
- Search your mail for "Gathrings" rather than scrolling.
- Give it a few minutes. Some mail providers hold automated messages briefly.
- Check for a typo in the address, especially if you've never had any mail from us.
Dismissing the banner
You can Dismiss it and carry on using Gathrings. Some things stay limited until you verify, and the banner comes back — but it won't stop you browsing or RSVPing in the meantime.
The exception is signing up with Google. There you'll see "Verify your email to continue", and that one is a real stop: you'll need to verify before going further.
