Create your account
Signing up takes a name and an email — you set your password from a link we send you. Here's the whole flow, including what to do if the email doesn't arrive.
You don't choose a password on the sign-up form. We email you a link and you set it there, which means no password ever travels through a form someone could be looking over your shoulder at.
Signing up with your email
- Choose Sign up from the sign-in screen
- Fill in your first name, last name and email address
- Choose Create account
- Check your email for the invitation link
- Open the link and set your password
- You're signed in automatically from there
If you see "An account with this email already exists," you already have one. Use Forgot username or password? rather than making a second.
Signing up with Google
Choose Log in with Google and pick your account. There's no form and no password to set.
You may be asked to verify your email before you can carry on. Open the link we send, then choose I've verified — continue.
If the invitation email doesn't arrive
Wait a couple of minutes, then:
- Check spam and junk
- Check for a typo in the address you entered — a wrong letter sends it somewhere real but not yours
- Search for "Gathrings" rather than scrolling your inbox
If it's genuinely not there, sign up again with the address spelled carefully. If that fails too, write to [email protected] and tell us the address you're trying.
What happens next
Once you're in, it's worth doing three things:
- Add a photo and a line about yourself in Settings → Profile. Organizers approving members have little else to go on, and an empty profile is harder to say yes to.
- Set your language and theme in Settings → Preferences.
- Choose what you hear about in Settings → Notifications, so the app tells you about the things you care about and leaves the rest alone.
None of it is required. You can RSVP to something first and come back to this later.
