Your Stripe account states

The Payments page in your organization settings shows one of four states.

Not connected

Connect your Stripe account to receive ticket revenue and donations directly to your bank.

Nothing is linked yet. Click Connect Stripe to start.

You'll also see this state after you disconnect an account — there's no separate "disconnected" state, so if you've just disconnected and the page says Not connected, that's expected.

Setup incomplete

Your Stripe setup is incomplete. Finish onboarding on Stripe to start receiving payments.

You started Stripe's onboarding but didn't finish it. Stripe is usually waiting on an identity document, a bank account, or a business detail.

Click Complete Stripe Setup. You can click it as many times as you need — each click makes a fresh link.

You can't take money in this state. Donations can't be enabled and ticket tiers can't go on sale.

Stripe connected

The healthy state. You'll see Country, Charges and Payouts, each marked Enabled or Disabled.

Charges: Enabled is what unlocks donations and ticket sales. It's possible to be connected with charges enabled but payouts disabled — that means you can take money but it can't reach your bank yet, usually because a bank account is missing. Fix that in your Stripe Dashboard.

Action required

Stripe needs more information before this account can process payments. Resolve the flagged items on Stripe.

Stripe has restricted the account. This happens when a verification deadline passes, a document is rejected, or Stripe needs more information about the business.

Click Resolve on Stripe — it takes you to exactly what's outstanding. Gathrings can't see or fix the flagged items; only Stripe can tell you what they are.

If donations or tickets won't turn on

Both check the same thing: whether your account is charge-ready. If it isn't, you'll see:

Connect a payout account first — Donations can be enabled once a charge-ready connected payout account is set up.

or, on a ticket tier:

Set up payments for your organization to sell tickets.

The fix is always the same: get the Payments page to Stripe connected with Charges: Enabled.
