The live table view

Watch tables fill in real time, move a guest to another table, and sort out the room as it changes.

Once table seating is on, you get a live view of the room: who's sitting where, updating as people arrive.

Finding it

It lives inside the attendance dashboard you use to work the door. Open your event, go to the check-in dashboard, and expand Live table view.

It's collapsed by default and only starts listening once you open it, so working the door without it costs you nothing.

Reading it

Each table shows its number, its name if it has one, and how full it is:

4 of 8 seats taken

A table with every seat taken is marked Full. One that's open but empty reads No one seated yet. Before anyone has checked in at all, the whole view reads:

No one's been seated yet. Tables fill as people check in.

Under each table are the people sitting at it. Someone who brought guests shows with +2 guests beside their name — that's their whole party, seated together and counted together.

Everything updates by itself as people check in. There's no refresh to press.

Moving someone to another table

Beside any seated person is Move.

Choosing it lists every other table with how much room each has — 3 seats left, or Full, or Not enough room when the table has space but not enough for that person's whole party. Pick one and confirm with Move.

The whole party moves together. You can't split a party across tables, and you can't move someone into a table that can't hold all of them — capacity applies to you the same as it does to the automatic seating. If nothing can take them you'll see:

No other table has room for this party.

Make room first: move a smaller party out of a likely table, or raise Maximum tables in the event's seating settings so a fresh one can open.

If someone else fills the table between you opening the dialog and confirming, the move is refused with "That table just filled up. Pick another." Nothing is lost — pick a different table.

Moves are recorded in the event's audit log, so there's a record of who moved whom.

What you can't do from here

You can't seat someone who isn't seated. Move only appears for people who already have a table. Anyone checked in but unseated — because the room filled up, or their party was too big for any table — can't be placed from this view. Getting them seated means undoing their check-in and checking them in again once there's room. Assign tables at check-in walks through that.

You can't remove a table that has people at it. Trying to is refused:

This table has seated attendees — reassign them before deleting it

That's on purpose — removing the table would quietly unseat everyone at it. Move them elsewhere first, then remove it.

When someone leaves

If you undo a person's check-in, their seats are freed automatically and the table has room again.

The table itself stays open, even when it empties completely. Because tables fill before new ones open, an emptied table is first in line for the next arrivals — which is usually what you want. If you'd rather it were gone, remove it once it's empty.
