Toast notifications never appear

Toast notifications never appear anywhere in the app. When something happens that should pop up an in-app toast (e.g. a new notification arriving), no toast is shown. **Where:** Global — any screen. **Expected:** A short toast appears for new notifications / relevant real-time events. **Steps to reproduce:** 1. Trigger something that should notify you (e.g. receive a new notification, message, or reaction). 2. No toast notification is shown.
